Montreal, October 30, 2008 – The Federation of Quebec Chambers of Commerce is pleased to present the 29th annual Mercuriades Competition. We invite Quebec-based businesses that are proud of their successes to submit their entries now. The winners will be announced at a Gala Evening on April 30th, 2009.
Mercuriades get a makeover
The Mercuriades, the most prestigious competition honouring the know-how of businesses based Quebec, will celebrate excellence once again this year, but in a newly revised competition format.
Quebec’s businesses, whose major contributions promote growth and prosperity in every region of our province, have plenty of reasons to feel proud about their success stories.
Three competition categories have been retained this year. In each of these, one award will be presented to a big business and another to an SME.
- Productivity improvement
- Market development
- Proactive workforce management
A special “Mercuriade” award will be presented on November 3rd at the “Rendez-vous des gens d’affaires sur la main-d’œuvre qualifiée,” a major forum organized by the FCCQ for businesspeople interested in developing a better-qualified workforce. The Mercuriade for Professional and Technical Training will be awarded to a business or employer that has achieved distinction for its efforts to benefit its workforce through an ongoing relationship with a professional or technical training institution.
Why enter?
Businesses that take part in the Mercuriades will find great things in store for them, whatever region of Quebec they represent. They’ll enjoy the sort of major visibility and top-of-mind awareness sought by everyone in the business community. Participation in the Mercuriades enhances a company’s prestige and strengthens its employees’ sense that they’re part of its success story, too.

Businesses interested in entering will find complete information online at mercuriades.com. They can also contact the FCCQ at 514.844.9571, extension 3254 or call toll free 1 800 361.5019.
